Welcome to Jigsaw Java.
The puzzle competition was a great success and many thanks to all who participated, came for the puzzle cutting demonstrations and to Hallmark Puzzles for providing the puzzles for the competition.
The standings are as follows:
Grand Prize winners: From the Bay Area - John Camaya, Kaia Richards, Cindy Cheung and Derek Haugen with a time of 1 hour and 15 minutes!!!
Second Place went to Melissa Beck's team from Orange County, consisting of Melissa, Leslie Cameron, Heather Teichrow, and Victoria Kletselman with a time of 1 hour and 24 minutes. They had an awesome cheerleader in Jeremy Beck.
Third Place went to Sharon Hoffman's team from Menlo Park and close by cities, consisting of Sharon, Leah Rozeboom, Courtney Payne and Julie Alverez (who has been a big supporter of mine for many years) with a time of 1 hour and 25 minutes.
We also had a reporter from KCBS radio interviewing many of the contestants during the competition and she was surprised at how competitive everyone was and I thought, "DUH!"
Someone mentioned to her that one of the reasons for competing was to see how good a puzzler you are compared to others. I have yet to enter a competition myself but maybe one of these days I will and I'll find out where I stand compared to others. :-)
