The $500 GRAND PRIZE WINNING Team was led by Dorothy Pang. They finished the puzzle in 3 hours exactly. Her teammates were:
The second place team was leading for the majority of the contest but had dropped a piece on the floor and didn't know it and then couldn't find it. They completed the puzzle in 3 hours and 8 minutes. This team consisted of individuals who had met online through the jigsaw puzzle Meetup group that I had created. This team consisted of:
The last team to complete the puzzle (there were a few who left before they finished) was Keith Kadera and his kittens, Nina Kadera, Justine Ryan, and Candy Burns. We think maybe they had a few too many extra props
Angela Anderson was the closest to guessing the number of pieces in the jar (only off by 60) – there were actually 3685 pieces. She won a pizza and puzzle party for four at Jigsaw Java.
A BIG THANK YOU goes to Joe Seymour and Bruce Gehman and their wives for providing such a great experience for spectators, children and adults alike. They very enthusiastically demonstrated how they hand cut wooden jigsaw puzzles and then let spectators take a try at it. There were definitely some naturals in the crowd.
