While Saturday, August 14, is the meeting focus, we have scheduled events on Friday and Sunday as well. For attendees who plan to stay an extra day (group rate applies at the hotel), we also recommend Salem for its history as a seaport and whaling town, its witch craze and Witch Museum, the very fine Peabody-Essex Museum, and Hawthorne's "House of Seven Gables." Salem is a fascinating "destination location."

There are special lower fees for early conference registration. Prices go up after April 1. The conference hotel rate is $109 per night (hotel rate cut-off date is July 12). The modernized Hawthorne still retains all the ambiance and charm of a hotel from the 1920/30 period. A time which, coincidentally, was at the peak of a world wide jigsaw mania.
